I’m over-the-moon to share not one, but two commissions I recently completed for Lauren’s Kids and Mercedes-Benz.
Lauren’s Kids, a non-profit in Florida, hired me to create a mosaic version of their “love and healing” specialty license plate. If you live in Florida, you’ve probably seen the plate.
Lauren’s Kids gifted my artwork to Mercedes-Benz. So cool, right? But why? Well, the two of them started a generous partnership earlier this year. Instead of having the standard-issue State of Florida license plate on their loaner cars, Mercedes-Benz put the Lauren’s Kids specialty plate on all of them. We’re talking 200 vehicles. What an awesome company…and partner!
Here’s the first mosaic I completed.
Mercedes-Benz then did another amazing thing. They put the Lauren’s Kids tags on all of their loaner cars at another location. That’s another 150 vehicles! So they hired me to create a 2nd mosaic version of the specialty license plate to hang at that location.
Here’s the finished mosaic.
I also have to share that I’m a huge Romero Britto fan and it’s his original artwork that graces the Lauren’s Kids specialty plate. Replicating his artwork in mosaic form was a bucket list item I didn’t even know I needed to do. But I’m so glad and thankful that I had the opportunity!
